How I Study Photography
1. Study the Basics.
Exposure Triangle
- Aperture
- Shutter Speed
- ISO
this is the base of photography.
in 2025, the triangle has changed.
ISO is now a setting that can be fixed in post (editing).
Aperture and shutter speed are still important.
2. Take Photos.
I take photos of everything.
I take photos everyday.
I take photos of things that interest me.
3. Edit Photos.
I use software to edit my photos.
I crop, adjust exposure, contrast, and color.
4. Share Photos.
Print them, share them, and get feedback.
5. Go to a Museum.
I visit photography museums and galleries. I study the work of other photographers. I get inspired by different styles and techniques.

- black and white ( ansel adams, robert capa)
- street photography ( henri cartier-bresson, robert frank )
6. Read Books.
I read books about photography.
I read books about the history of photography.
I read books about the techniques of photography.

- composition ( rule of thirds, leading lines, framing )
- lighting ( natural light, artificial light, golden hour )
- color theory ( complementary colors, analogous colors, monochromatic )
7. Practice, Practice, Practice.
I take photos regularly.
I experiment with different techniques.
I learn from my mistakes.
8. Join a Community.
I join photography communities.
I share my work and get feedback.
I learn from others and get inspired.
9. Keep Learning.
Self-study is important.
Keep up with the latest trends and techniques, or don't.
